Hône

“From the Bronze Age to the Micòoula bread,
along the path of the ravines”

At the mouth of the Champorcher valley, the welcoming Hône offers a dive into the dawning of history, among the traces of Bronze Age settlements: huts carved into the rock, ancient ‘Balme’ (typical stone huts) and cupelled stones made for religious rites.

A stronghold in the domain of Bard, the town has preserved the charm of a medieval village, but its true treasure is the eighth century Church of Saint George, rich in masterpieces of religious art. Do not miss the Féhta de la micòoula, the festival of the traditional sacred sweet bread, which is held every year on the 8th December.

From here paths to panoramic points of exceptional beauty unfold, such as the viewpoints of Pourcil and the Serra di Biel. The path through the ravines, which snakes along the course of the river Ayasse, is also spectacular.
