Hut managers: Nicola and Jean Claude

“In the summer of 2010 we began the adventure of running the Miserin hut:
we have always loved this place, it is part of our identity.
We are two guys of 21 and 24, born and raised at Champorcher, we love the mountain and the energy which it transmits, we know these parts like the back of our hands."

Nicola passes the winter snowboarding,
Jean Claude prefers free heel skiing, particularly off-piste.
At the hut, Nicola looks after logistics and the bar,
Jean Claude is in the kitchen,
to which he has dedicated himself for many years, at the family agritourism farm ‘Le moulin des aravis’.

The hut

Already a hospice for pilgrims of the Santuario della Madonna delle Nevi,
the hut lies along the banks of Lake Miserin, in a fantastic position within the Regional Park of Mont Avic,
bordering the Gran Paradiso National Park, along the Alta Via Route no. 2.

A place full of energy: the beauty of the lake, the mountain ledge,
the traditional cuisine, the warmth of simplicity

Specialities

We cannot reveal our secrets to you,
but we can reawaken your gastronomic curiosity.

If, and only if, you succeed in reaching us
you will be able to try:
Seuppa vapellenetse, Crêpes made with rye flour, Chestnuts cooked in wine, our butter and our lard.

You may also come across:
the Piedmont Bagna Caoda hot dip sauce or the sponge finger Tartiflette,
not forgetting the not-to-be-missed polenta dishes,
accompanied by stew, sausage or cheese.

The produce is all locally sourced:
flour, desserts, cheese, fruits and other produce is all purchased directly from farms in the Champorcher valley or from the lower Aosta Valley.
