On leaving the restaurant, take the path that goes up the valley to reach Saint Jacques (1697 m).
From Saint Jacques you pass the bridge over the Evançon stream and take the path 4 that goes up to Croues (1871 m) up to the Nannaz Desot mountain pasture (2040 m). Continue to the Grand Tournalin refuge (2535 m). Refreshment and control point. From here, go down the road and take the path 4A on the right. With a diagonal half-way up the trail climbs up to the hill of Nannaz (2772 m). From here you descend into the basin to go up to the Col des Fontaines (2695 m). The trail resumes the descent, up to the town of Cheneil (2097 m). Go down into the woods, passing the Promindoz pasture (1845 m) and finally the village of Cretaz (1515 m). Fifth life base.
