Really a big party in Gressoney, for the first edition of Tot Dret, a race of130 km and 12.000 m of difference in altitude to be completed in 38 hours maximum.
On starting line, 375 competitors were deployed and beyond the barriers, along the main street of the town and at the edge of Lys river - which born from the neighboring glaciers of Monte Rosa - was present the local population form Gressoney and other nearby villages, trailer’s families, supporters, friends, staff. Festive mood, colorful t-shirts, music and presence of four Tor’s “top trailers”: Collé, Macchi, Bosatelli and Dominguez to congratulate with the athletes of this completely new ultra trail.
Cold weather, rain, and somewhere snow are forecast on the hills near Valtournenche and Gran San Bernardo.
But the Tot Dret's irreducibles decided to not give up: they were all well-equipped and aware.
At 9.00 pm, the 750 front lamps lit up and “illuminated” the crowd, then mixed with Tor des Géants® contestants, amazed of a such festive noise.
