Big Wednesday. But also Saturday, tomorrow. It's the two days dedicated to the arrival of the main part of the Tor des Géants® trailers.
Among them, tired but happy, the last two trailers of the Tot Dret, Claudia Artaz and Michel Breuvé came to the finish line. They left and arrived together; united pair, in sports and even in life.
Under the banner in the center of Courmayeur, there is a great deal of Tor athletes' traffic, since that, at about 24 hours of the maximum limit (Saturday at 4 pm), is still around 350 competitors.
The finish line is interview, official photo, awards, thanks. The goal of others is real celebration, rather than something interior. Jump, hugs, big prosecco bottles, flags, tears, photos with friends, kids, parents with old cameras hijacking the official photographers and the Rai cameramen and there's no way to rush them out of parterre. Yellow carpet for everyone.
The weather has returned, it will be cold on the hills in the last night but the snow has liquefied. The volunteers will give even more, the maximum, to support and comfort. "It's over, there's not much", even if it's not entirely true. Heavy miles for tiredness, the final ones, but smelling of finishers and new friends.
Then another Sunday party, starting at 11 am. Tribute to podium athletes and finisher jackets for all, the most prized prize.
