Sometimes you register to a race up on enthusiasm. But then, there is the confirmation you are running an endurance trail race..and there comes the doubts…what about now? Am I going to make it until the finish line? How can I train for the best result? To who can I ask useful advice about racing?
To everyone who is looking for a support to race at his best condition, to prepare to become a finisher and to do it having fun and being safe, VDA Trailers ( www.100x100trail.it), which organizes Gran Trail Courmayeur in July ( 30,60 and 90 km), the mythical Tor des Géants ( 330 km in September) the attractive Arrancabirra in October and more, has come to an agreement with Trail Running movement ( www.trailrunningmovement.com). It is a leader society in the trail running world led by sport trainers certified by Aics- Coni.
The agreement is about the organization of exclusive stage by TRM specifically focused on the training to do Tor des Géants 2015. This stages are, of course, useful to who is willing to be prepared for shorter races or for different occasion.
This technical and sport training is going to be made directly on the races paths, surrounded by the untouched nature of the mountains, in the fascinating environment of Big Mountains and Parks of the Aosta Valley.
Stages, made in italian, french, spanish and english, are finalized at the knowledge of the best technique of psychophysical management, which are necessary to finish with satisfaction a 330 km endurance trial.
Eights are the main themes:
- planning of timetable
- materials, clothing and equipment
- making of the backpack
- succession of run - march and night running
- issues about sleeping
- planning of micro - sleeps during the race
- management of sleep, possible hallucinations and psycho-crisis
Endurance stages are made on 5 exits, of 1 day, 2 days or 3 days ( this last one for the more expert) and they are preceded, on the night before, by a technical briefing.
Stages made in more then 1 day are made with rest period in mountain shelters which support Tor or in small hotels at the bottom of the valleys.
Following the calendar, developed between June and the beginning of August 2015:
- Donnas-Gressoney, 27 and 28 June
- Courmayeur-La Thuile, 12 July
- Cogne-Chardonnay, 18 July
- La Thuile-Cogne, 25 and 26 July
- Gressoney-Courmayeur, 8, 9 and 10 August
